Hutterites Shunned for education and high school sports

i have never heard of this group but i turned on the tv and right now (eastern time) there is a show on national geographic called american colony/hutterites and they are shunning members for allowing their children to have more education than they deem neccessary as well as playing school sports.

the group also appears to think they are the only ones going to heaven.. anyone know more about this or have experience with them?

We have generalized them into the Anabaptist movement, I remember reading how these marginalized religions were being attacked or their deviation from Calvin and Luther's teachings. The same way Arminism was villified by the anti-Arminism movements with the Dutch-Holland countries of the late 1600s to mid 1700s, my Anabaptist history is rusty. They do not get involved in politics, do not kill, take care of their commune. Good post Puff!

How many are brought in legally and illegally from H1-B1 VISAs or H1-B2 Visas? Northern United States and Canada have a huge influx of illegal immgirants coming into the United States form the Middle East. Can we count the vast amount of Spanish Culture individuals as being Catholic? The growth of these men and women, are they legal or illegal?

What kind of growth is it, Organic Growth or In-Organic growth in the Islamic religion? We are not as hard hit as the European Union, their welfare benefits are far superior to the United States, so we are by passed in this way. Denmark, Holland and Germany were offering money to pay for them to leave those countries, they found out they had a high tendency to be unemployed, draining resources. The Smiling Swedes have been the hardest hit, the Swedes are getting robbed, plundered and smiling as they hand over their wallet and cell phone. Sweden has been learning the harsh reality of being politically correct, even Wiki founder Hassan has said they are failing from their lack of direction, they might implode? Nothing like three smiling Swedes talking a walk, only to be mugged by teenage pirates from Somalia.

France is having to come to grip with the swelling growth of illegal immigrants from Africa and the Middle East. Why do you think their economy is in shambles, I am not xenophobic, when you have a huge influx of unskilled immigrants heading to a country with fifteen to twenty five percent unemployment, what is left for the citizens and legal residents? How many years ago did we see the peaceful men and women lighting their own Government flats on fire? Burning cars and rioting over the lack of oppertunity and preceived prejudice from the French? The French want to hire a legal citizen and they are labeld "racist, bigot, xenophobic", what a mess the European Union is in, who is to blame?

Why do only xian religions have soo many pedo problems ?

im not trying to poke fun at any particular religion or show favouritism, but im having a hard time recalling similar repeated scandals in non xian religions.

i cant recall hearing of pedo scandals in islam or buddism.

yes i know that islam perpetrates many other evils like so call honour killings but buddhism seems to be rarely in the news for similar evils ?

@Qcmbr: Ditto, how can you talk about something that is not talked about within the culture? Women are treated as less value than a domestic cow according to some traditions. Can you abuse women and get away with it, it's in the Quran, as long as you don't kill them! Youtube had original videos on "How to beat your wife" and most have been removed, the parody ones are left to mock this real life problem in countries under Sharia Law.

Next time Mp you try to pass off Islam as something better than Xians, make sure the crowd does not have someone who studied their religion for ten years, and knows how they think, I think you knew this but were hoping to feign ignornace until you were called on it!

Mp, do yourself a favor, read Craig Winn's works on Islam, he is one of the best historians, not afraid of all the death threats he has received. Craig's work stand's on his use of the five most ancient sources of Islamic written tradition. Are you a former Muslim Mp, or do you live in a Islamic country? I have thought you might be living in this region, just from your silence on Islamic teachings, while firing off a Xians. "The Sword of the Prophet" from an atheist/former Muslim teacher's perspective might be your style?

think about the talks you heard at the "one day, two-day or summer conventions", were you upbuilt and told how valuable you are?

Smiddy, one of the first questions you ask a young brother who wants to be used in the Congregation is "How do you appear to your brothers and sisters in the Kingdom Hall?, Are you visible or invisible?" Exactly like he said "It's all about appearances!" Showing up for field service all dressed up, and leaving the parkinglot alone for a "Special Call" (going back to bed, heading out fishing) reinforces the "appearance part! LOL!

it took me a long time to write this....i'm being brutally honest...i am still a reg pioneer...three sundays ago,i was praying and asking god for a sign or something because i was so confused...i told him exactly what i needed to see for me to believe.i was feeling terrible--crying and feeling sick because i was so confused.ten minutes after, i walked into the kingdom hall and to my surprise--my prayer was answered!

i soooo wasn't expecting it, even though i prayed.

so this is where almighty god wants me to be,ii've reasoned.

We have been where you are, what if Jehovah does bring the "End" now, can you tell me how you differ from monotheistic Mennonites who preached in 1800s Mongolia, North and South China, who lived the truth as close to the Word as possible? Are you picking up your torture stake by driving around in circles for six hours, drinking Starbucks coffee and eating Denny's Grand Slam Breakfasts, make you holy?
